| Business
exhibitions should contain a balance of useful ready information and
take away leaflets, brochures and website details to allow the visitor to
feel he or she has found items that were previously not considered, or only
vaguely considered, but which now may represent a highly useful investment.
A business exhibition needs to be planned to include a variety of stalls,
possibly on a common theme, and some other central activity to draw the
advertisers' attention such as lectures, a planned activity or a demonstration
of some kind. The ideal exhibition in the UK, Birmingham, Shropshire, Wales
or elsewhere within Central England has an intellectual core where principles
may be discussed and understood, as well as a variety of exhibition stands
with products on sale. When planning your exhibition stand, bear in mind that most visitors will want to pick up information before returning to you for a discussion. Prepare plenty of leaflets and business cards, and if possible have a commercially developed stand with your company logo and information printed clearly on it. You will also need to brief your sales staff on how to approach customers, what are the relevant issues that you will want to put across, and how you want them to latch onto the general mood and persuasion of visitors. A script may be useful initially, or an activity or visual/ audible display which will catch their eye, and engage them in conversation. Business exhibitions are know to be good meeting places for making useful contacts, so have your organiser, laptop, or other data storing device at the ready to log interested potential customers. It may also be a good idea to ask customers at the end of your chat if they would like to receive further information, and note down company names and contact details. Finally, ask your staff to present themselves as neatly as possible, if possible with some item of company clothing, to clarify their role and interest. |
