Accommodation Details

Red House is a working family farm of approx. three hundred acres, situated in the fertile valley of the River Trannon, Trefeglwys. The farm occupies an elevated position with the farmhouse situated in the middle of the farmland, therefore enjoying panoramic views of the valley and beyond. It is an ideal location for anyone who enjoys the benefits of the countryside, but is also close enough to explore and visit all the wonderful places that this part of Mid-Wales has to offer. For those who just want to "get away" from it all and relax in tranquil surroundings then we can guarantee a holiday free from traffic jams and light and noise pollution - altough the odd wake-up call by the farm cockerel might be a possibility.

Guests' enjoyment is our priority, so we aim to provide you with a farm friendly welcome where you will be greeted with a freshly baked home-made cake, fresh fruit, flowers and groceries.

Guests with children are wecome to use the swings, slide and trampoline (fitted with net guards) in the main garden, under parental supervision

Capacity:
The accommodation we have on offer has a 4 star rating from the Wales Tourist Board. It comprises a self contained unit in part of the farmhouse, and caters for five people in two bedrooms. The first bedroom is an en suite family room with all the original beams exposed. It has a king size bed, a single bed and a cot. The second bedroom has a double bed and the bathroom has both shower and bath. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave and laundry facilities, while the comfortable lounge has a woodburner effect fire and a television. There is central heating throughout.

Parking is right outside, with guests' own lawn and patio area. Do not be fooled by the modern white render to the exterior of Red House, as the farmhouse is a timber framed structure dating back to the 1600s and this is reflected in the internal decoration of your accommodation.

Bed linen, towels, cot and high chair are all provided in the booking price.

Prices:

Our rates range from £200 - £350 per week. Short breaks also available.

Features:
Red House is a working farm where guests are welcome to view some of the seasonal tasks. It is 7 miles from the historic town of Llanidloes, and 2 miles from the villages of Trefeglwys, Caersws and Llandinam where food supplies and meals can be purchased. Local attractions include Clywedog Dam, Powis Castle, the Centre for Alternative Technology, Red Kite Feeding Centre and the Mid-Wales Clay Pigeon Shooting Centre. Cycle routes pass close by and the coast is a 45 minute drive away.

We regret that as Red House is a working farm, we cannot accept dogs.
