Newbridge Farm, set in the heart of the Vyrnwy Valley, has the rivers Vyrnwy and Banwy flowing through its land. It is a working dairy, beef and sheep farm offering visitors comfortable self-catering accommodation in intriguingly designed, purpose built cottages with timbered beams. Pets are welcome and children will enjoy watching the daily milking from the viewing balcony just off the second floor utility room. Next door is the visitors' games room with full size pool table, darts board, keep fit facilities and seating.

Attractions

As both the rivers Vyrnwy and Banwy flow through Newbridge Farm, it is not surprising that this farm has built a solid reputation amongst anglers. The rivers are swift flowing until they meet at the confluence, just beyond the cottages. From here the Vyrnwy widens with some slow flowing and willow lined stretches where fish tuck in against eroding banks on the outside of bends. Wild brown trout, grayling, chub and salmon, in season, test the skills of anglers, so cast off your worries and come and have a go.....

Newbridge is on the edge of Kite Country. Look out for these majestic birds soaring. In the winter you can catch a glimpse of a badger or a fox as well as winter birds such as the robin and the Canada Geese.

Now visitors can further enjoy this relatively undiscovered corner of rural Wales by staying in one of the newly built farm cottages, within just 200 yards of the rivers. Accommodating up to 6 people, the cottages are fully equipped, and enjoy fine views across the valley. Children (along with pets) are welcomed, and they will certainly enjoy watching the milking from the purpose-built viewing platform in the milking shed.

The riverside path from the farm brings you to Meifod, where there is a fine old inn and a stylish gallery and gift shop. Pontrobert and Dolanog are also nearby. Other places of interest include, Mathrafal Castle, Glyndwr's Way National Trail, Powis Castle, the Welshpool & Llanfair Steam Railway and many more.
